SVRCS Foundation John Thomas Memorial Awards
John Thomas was a member of our staff and a dear friend to many of us. He taught math and science at SVRCS for several years. His time among us was filled with laughter and friendship (and learning). Mr. Thomas brought an excitement to teaching that caught the attention of even the most reluctant students. Among his personal interests were golf, astronomy, and old movies/shows (especially classic sci-fi films).
Upon Mr. Thomas's passing, John's family presented his memorial funds to the school to give awards to senior students that have excelled in math and science. With the end of those funds, the SVRCS Foundation has taken up the continuation of these awards in John’s honor.
